I am a flakey bitch and I have wound up starting Endfield. I'm not necessarily committed to it at the moment but I haven't really played much of it either. I got to the point where the game "starts" (the chapter 1 part 1 banner appears, you gain access to the mail system) but that was also the point where I had to stop and get ready for bed. I'm honestly a little embaressed, mostly over having made such a big deal about not playing it and then folding almost immediately. I guess that's just what I get for very confidently saying something that I was only mostly confident in.

I will say that as an Arknights player there's a lot in the intro cutscene that sorta hits hard. I kinda miss the intro in the alpha, which was a lot slower paced and moodier, but I guess a fast-paced action intro is better for drawing people in. I've been having hitches in performance but I think it's sorting itself out. And that's all I can really say after about 20 minutes of playing, not exactly enough time for anything insightful.
